The Effex Procedure:

How it works

The Effex Procedure uses a very small battery that is implanted just above the glutes. Tiny wires from the battery connect to leads placed over the spinal cord. These leads emit a high-frequency signal which blocks unwanted pain signals from reaching your brain, providing lasting pain relief.

Studies have shown an average 73% reduction in pain for patients who have received this treatment.

We specialize in the treatment of chemotherapy-induced neuropathy, diabetic neuropathy, idiopathic neuropathy, and other forms of chronic pain.
Left untreated, this may lead to a serious lack of mobility, and in severe cases may require the amputation of a foot. Do not wait to seek treatment for this very serious issue!

The Neuropathy Treatment Institute Process

Careful patient selection is the key to great outcomes. First, you will undergo a screening process to determine if the Effex Procedure is right for you.

If you are a candidate, you will be scheduled for a trial procedure. In the trial, the battery is not implanted, but worn on a belt for about a week. If you experience strong results, this means the permanent implant will almost certainly produce the same!

About 75-90% of trials are successful and the patients then move on to the permanent implant. That procedure is performed outpatient, meaning patients walk out of the surgery center on the same day.
