If leg ulcers are left untreated they may become infected – which in severe cases can lead to amputation. Do not let your painful neuropathy go untreated!
How the neuropathy stimulator provides relief
What is a Stimulator?
The HFX Spinal Cord Stimulation is a nondrug, FDA-approved, treatment option for long-term chronic pain relief for neuropathy and other pain conditions.
It’s a small device, placed in a same-day, outpatient procedure, that safely works inside your body to significantly reduce your pain and restore your quality of life.

What Patients Are Saying
How it works
The Effex Procedure uses a very small battery that is implanted just above the glutes. Tiny wires from the battery connect to leads placed over the spinal cord. These leads emit a high-frequency signal which blocks unwanted pain signals from reaching your brain, providing lasting pain relief.
Studies have shown an average 73% reduction in pain for patients who have received this treatment.
What Doctors Are Saying
The Neuropathy Treatment Institute Process
Careful patient selection is the key to great outcomes. First, you will undergo a screening process to determine if the Effex Procedure is right for you.
If you are a candidate, you will be scheduled for a trial procedure. In the trial, the battery is not implanted, but worn on a belt for about a week. If you experience strong results, this means the permanent implant will almost certainly produce the same!
About 75-90% of trials are successful and the patients then move on to the permanent implant. That procedure is performed outpatient, meaning patients walk out of the surgery center on the same day.
Consultation
You will meet with one of our spinal cord stimulator physician experts to assess if you might be a candidate.
Trial Period
A small SCS device be installed for a period of 5-7 days. This will give you time to test the device to see if it is a fit for you.
Permanent SCS
If the trial works for you, you will have a permanent device installed to provide pain relief every day of your life.
